bigair Geschrieben 18. Oktober 2005 Teilen Geschrieben 18. Oktober 2005 The reason for all these horrible facts was [1], that nobody was prepared for such a big disaster. There were the Vorraussagen[2] of the experts, but bush invested all the state budged into the irak war, so there was no cash to finance precautions. seas was ghört statt dem was?...das hört sich so leicht behindert an...und was sind vorraussagen im englischen? =) lg dominik Zitieren Link zu diesem Kommentar Auf anderen Seiten teilen Mehr Optionen zum Teilen...

Lena Geschrieben 18. Oktober 2005 Teilen Geschrieben 18. Oktober 2005 Vorraussage = prediction [prophecy nur in Fällen, wo's der Kontext verlangt] The reason for all these horrible events [meinst du "Tatsachen"? - "facts" heisst zwar Tatsachen, aber "events" passt etwas besser, mMn ] was that nobody was prepared for such a big disaster. Even though there were preditions made by numerous experts, G.W. Bush invested the entire state budget into the Iraq war. Therefore, no cash was available to finance any kind of precautionary measures. [ich würde statt "precautions" eher "safety procedures" sagen oder besser "precautionary measures"] Zitieren Link zu diesem Kommentar Auf anderen Seiten teilen Mehr Optionen zum Teilen...

Therefore, no cash was available to finance any kind of precautionary measures. [ich würde statt "precautions" eher "safety procedures" sagen oder besser "precautionary measures"] ...beim vorigen text hab ich nur a paar fehler ghabt Lamb to the Slaughter The day after the murder Mrs. Maloney went to the grocer’s again. It was a Friday, the sun was not shining trough the clouds and it had rained the whole day. The street was splashy; the water dropped down from the trees and the gateway was slippery. After Mrs. Maloney had been shopping at the grocer’s she ran back to her house because she had put a cake into the oven before. But this cake would never be eaten. She ran through the gateway and she slipped on the slick ground. For a few seconds she spun around herself and then she crashed with her head against the curbstone. There was a loud bang. Suddenly a power pole dropped to the floor and the electricity wire landed on Mrs. Maloney’s body. Because of the wetness the electricity went trough her body and a few minutes later there was just an amount of dust on the ground. It rained cats and dogs and so a part of the dust ran into the sewage system. This ash was so sticky that it blocked the whole system. Now we have forgotten one detail. Why did the power pole crash down? The neigbor’s car crashed into it. The neighbor Uncle Peter, a car mechanic, was working on his automobile. When he heard the loud bang from the Mrs. Maloney’s head crashing on the ground he got shocked for a moment and so he accidentally short circuited his car. This was the reason. Now the fire brigade came, towed of the crashed car and repaired the broken power pole. Because it was a strange accident the fire fighters phoned the police officer of the district. He thought that there could be a possibility for a connection between the dead of Mrs. and Mr. Maloney. Then there was nearly the same scene like on the day before, the police, detectives and some other specialists arrived. Suddenly the doctor shouted: “Hey, I have got found something interesting, there is a bullet in this accumulation of dust. Let me reconstruct… …she was running home… …and a marksman shoots her down… ...not as we thought that she was slipping out…” After those words the detective heard a bang from a house on the other part of the street. The doctor was lying in his bloodstain and his eyes were opened, he tried to say something but in this moment his head fell down on the ground. The eyes of the detective were searching arrowed the houses to find the sniper. He catched a glimpse of the sniper, his right arm went down to his belt to take the weapon, but at this moment another bang went trough the street… Zitieren Link zu diesem Kommentar Auf anderen Seiten teilen Mehr Optionen zum Teilen...
