Nächstes Jahr werma sehen was vom Hype noch übrig ist und wie gut das Teil dann in der Realität funktioniert :-)

FLEX features the following 18 functions even on the basic model:

 

• Speed: Current / Maximam / Average / Pace Arrow
  
• Cadence: Current / Maximum / Average
  
• Time: Clock / Elapsed / Count-down
  
• Distance: Odd / Trip1 / Trip2
  
• Wattage: Current / Maximum / Average / Pace Arrow
  
• Low Battery Alert
  

 

Speed is picked up from the rear wheel to enable you to use on any indoor trainer. Cadence is picked up from the left side crank arm.

Both data are transmitted in the latest 2.4GHz digital wireless system to the head computer on the stem.

 

Analog and 2.0GHz or lower digital wireless system usually cannot transfer the signal so long distance, so that they have to pick up the speed from the front wheel that is not acceptable for indoor training.

Also analog wireless system can handle only one signal and 2.0GHz or lower digital wireless system can carry up to two signals. Is it enough? Definetely, No. But FLEX can do everything!

 

How to mount FLEX?

 

It's quite easy. Just putting FLEX on your stem then hook the backside strap. That's all. It is no necessary to install any additional base bracket nor wiring from the sensor, because FLEX is the all-in-one package of CPU, display, wireless signal reciever and batteries. You can also mount FLEX on your wrist if you want!

The total length of FLEX is only 50mm so it can fit most stems sizing 90mm or longer.

 

More models in future?

 

Yes, the mid grade model (FLEX-HR) will be available by summer 2007. It features heart rate monitor transmitted in also digital wireless. FLEX-HR will be the world first triple-digital-wireless system (speed, cadence & heart-rate) nobody never do.

 

Also the top grade model (FLEX-HRS) is scheduled to be available by the end of 2007 which features 100% accurate power measurement system for much better analysis of your training.

 

Both additional features are upgradable. Also we are planning to add more useful and convenient functions on these models.

Wenn sowas dann mal in die bikebrille integriert ist (als "see through"), wirds richtig interessant..

irgendwann kann man sich dann sein eigenes HMD bauen: einfach LCD/OLED Folie vor die Gucker pickn -> fertig!

bissi optik muss noch dazu, weil auf +15mm kann nicht einmal der kurzsichtigste programmierfuzzi scharf sehen

also wenigstens ne fresnel linse oder so.. und dann wirds schon wieder ein bissl kniffelig..

Oiso der Preis schockt mi ned.

Wenn ich mit Versand 165 $ rechne, sind das aktuell knappe 128 Euro.
