"Domestic/Australian competitors (residing in Australia whether permanent or temporarily long term) unless they have completed 5 or more Ironman Australia races are required to validate their entry by completing at least one Half Ironman race within the Australian Half Ironman Series of races for the 2008/2009 season by 8 February, 2009. Failure to complete a Half Ironman Series race by the 8 February, 2009 will result in the automatic withdrawal of the “pre-validated” entrant into the Ironman Australia race with a 50% refund of the entry fee applying.
International competitors (i.e. not residing in Australia) must have previously completed, as part of the entry process, at least a long distance triathlon (1.9km/80km/20 km) and may be required to produce evidence (copy of results/finisher certificate etc) at Registration. International competitors may be required to provide proof of residential status (stamped passport of entry to Australia). "
