Mens Pursuit 35–39

Kenny Williams of U.S.A took the Gold medal in the Men’s 35-39 Pursuit when he caught Wolfgang Kotzmann of Austria near the finish line after 3.22.021 minutes. Kenny Williams then went on to finish in 3.24.837 and set a new World Masters Best Time. Wolfgang Kotzmann took the Silver medal.

Kenny Williams dominated the race for the Gold as he consistently pulled away from Wolfgang Kotzmann to retain his title from 2005 in a catch just before his finish line. He shaved seven hundredths of a second off his own World Masters Best Time, set previously in 2004 at this event.

The Bronze medal was won by Paul O’Mahoney of Great Britain when he narrowly beat Olaf Schnaar of Germany. Paul finished in 3.34.255 minutes while Olaf Schnaar finished in 3.34.354 minutes.

In a very close race for the Bronze medal, Paul O’Mahoney just held off the challenge from Olaf Schnaar of Germany who was finishing much quicker of the two riders.

Mens Points 35–39

The Men’s 35-39 Points race was won by Kenny Williams of U.S.A. when he scored 27 points to take the Gold medal. The Silver medal was won by Wolfgang Kotzmann of Austria when he totalled 24 points. Martin Van Wyk of South Africa scored 19 points to take the Bronze medal.

 

This was another great Points race that again went down to the final sprint, with the top three riders clear on points from the rest of the field. No laps were gained on the field so all of the points came from the sprints. On the last lap, the order they crossed the line to take the points in the final sprint determined the order of the medals, with Kenny Williams crossing the line first to defend his title from 2005.

Was ich weiß sind in Manchester nur in den Geraden die Zuseherränge und die sollen laut Aussagen ziemlich voll gewesen sein.

 

Wenn man sich die Zeiten von der Verfolgung so ansieht und diese auf 4000m aufrechnet, sind diese noch dazu um etliches schneller als bei unseren Meisterschaften.
