Broken display in Daum P8i

First I’m sorry for using English, but I haven’t found any English language DAUM forums. I’m looking for help with my Daum P8i problem because it’s display went dark yesterday. During a ride display freezed and it was full of parallel lines. Wats were stuck to constant level; also all data in display stayed constant. When I restarted ergo the display was dark grey; there was some light but it was not working. I would like to ask if somebody has had same kind of problem and what was the solution? For me it looks like the display is broken. Thank you in advance!

I had nearly the same problem with my cockpit (P 8i) - after consulting daum services - first hints were to check all the plugs on rearsite and also the cockpit battery, but (as estimated) problem was the same as before. Solution was to send the cockpit back to daum (may in your case you have to deal first handing from/to Finnland with daum?!) and they sent the repaired (or new) one back in a couple of days. The infamous Daum-Support and Service is (in my opinion) not a joke - so contact them! In my case - reason (daum) was sweat in cockpit.

Thank you for your answer! Sweat theory fits well because just before black-out I was riding out of saddle and some sweat dropped on display. It looks like this a weak point of the ergo. I have already checked the battery and red/yellow lights of engine are OK. I have also pressed reset button of the display and situation is still the same. I will contact my retailer tomorrow and after that I can only hope that repair is fast.

Thank you, I have been already thinking some kind of dam against sweat flood and this looks like an excellent solution -> I will do that!

 

By the way, my retailer asked me to send serial number of my ergobike. Do you know where to find that? According to the manual it is stored into cockpit which means not available in my case.

My ErgoBike has a serial number near the power connector.
