WI-The Double/Double. A unique drive train system

Ich dachte ich sei des Englischen mächtig , aber könnte mir jemand erklären um was es da geht :

(und, vielleicht kannte der ein oder andere dieses Ding ja noch nicht :-))

 

The Double/Double is a unique drive train system the we offer. The system is comprised of a double chainring machined from one piece of aluminum, mated with an ENO crank and a DOS ENO freewheel. The configuration for a 26" wheel bike is offered with a 38/35 big ring mated with a 16/19 freewheel. The 29er configuration mates a 31/34 ring with a 16/19 freewheel. The system works by either running the chain in the outer tooth position or, alternatively, in the inner tooth position front to back. The gear ratios are significantly changed when switching from one combination to another, however, the chain length does not need to be altered to accommodate the two differing ratios. Running the ring in the outer position tends to be more suitable for on-road style riding, whereas, riding in the inner ring position lends itself more to off-road riding.

Zwei Kettenblätter für vorne, kombiniert mit zwei Ritzeln hinten. Abgestimmt auf die gleiche Kettenlänge - fröhliches "Schalten"!

So wie ich das versteh' ist das Kettenblatt & Ritzel in einem...oder so

 

Die Schalterei wird sicher sehr lustig sein :s:

...ich glaub´ die zwei teile liegen bloß verwirrenderweise aufeinander - aber vom prinzip einfach das: (auch englisch ) (unten)

im prinzip erlaubt es, 2 sehr unterschiedliche übersetzungen elegant auf einem rad zu verpacken, wenn dieses nur wenig verstellspielraum hat (zb trickstuff excentricker oder aufgefeilte vertical-ausfaller...)

Ich glaube jetzt habe ich eines (montiert) auf flickr entdeckt:

with a 32 and 34 up front, I'll have two possible, and completely different ratios. One for city.. on for Vermont. What I'm really excited about is the 15 tooth fixed cog that I'm putting on the other side of the hub.. whoa.. fixed gear 29er. love it.
