Like most, I was very frustrated with the saddle clip when I got my new Ergo 8i. I had it even worse, when I first received my bike the crappy clip was missing a part, meaning it was utterly useless and made me rather angry. Now, two years later I have learned to live with this regrettable cost saving by Daum, but it still nags me.
I have considered the more elaborate solutions: custom welded parts, elongated posts, etc. But I may have stumble on the most elegant, which is in the mail as we speak. I bought a Brompton for christmas, and was surprised by the high quality saddle clip. I just bought one to mount on my Daum. I cannot confirm 100% that is works since mine is still in the mail, but I do not see a reason why it wouldn't. It costs 20 GBP.
